Plenary II was chaired by Anders Nordström, Ambassador, HIV/AIDS, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sweden. Julian Schweitzer, Chair, Finance Working Group, Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health, highlighted the key gaps in financing MNCH programs and emphasized that in this time of economic constraints more money for health was not enough, efficiency and innovation are required to ensure that there is also more health for the money. Panelists discussed mechanisms to achieve the health MDGs through innovations in financing and service delivery. Dr Sundararaman launched the Government of India's costed health plan for MDGs 4 & 5.
