The Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents' Health 2016-2030

Report on feedback from consultations on Zero Draft Global Strategy

A synthesis report on feedback from consultations on the zero draft Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health has been release today by PMNCH. The report explores themes that have emerged from the consultation and resonate with the global audience; it identifies important content and presentational elements that need to be addressed in the draft Strategy and puts forward a number of recommendations based on the findings.

There was an overwhelming wealth and depth of feedback from this second round. More than 2,450 organizations and individuals participated through a multifaceted month-long consultation process and input came from diverse outlets including, the African Regional Consultations in South Africa; a series of dialogues with youth and adolescent groups and young leaders; as well as from a range of multi stakeholder groups across the globe. The general consensus from many respondents has been that the Strategy was “very good and makes a strong case for promoting women and girls rights and well-being”.

This synthesis report and an accompanying annex containing specific comments made on each section of the report will be submitted to the Global Strategy writing team for consideration in developing the final version of the Strategy to be launch at the UN General Assembly in September.
