The Government of Malawi, in order to mitigate the issues facing maternal, newborn and child health, has taken some actions. It has developed a National Road Map for Accelerating the Reduction of Maternal and Neonatal Mortality and Morbidity. This roadmap is divided into three phases: Phase 1: 2005-2008, Phase 2: 2009-2011, Phase 3: 2012-2014 and looks at the short term, medium term and long term interventions that will contribute to the improvement of MNCH.
