The Effect of Armed Conflict on the Health and Development of Infants and Children
5 May 2008
This PGPR Symposium and Workshop, to be held on 5 and 6 May 2008, will take place within the Pediatric Academic Societies' and Asian Society for Pediatric Research Joint Meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, U.S.A.
The three-part symposium on May 5, 2008 will focus on the effect of armed conflict on the health and development of infants and children. Parts 1 and 3 will be comprised of expert presentations providing an overview of the problems and issues and instances of work that is being done. Part 2 will feature platform presentations from selected abstracts on related issues.
At the follow-up workshop on 6 May 2008 colleagues from throughout the world will meet to examine the critical issues and establish clear plans for collaborative study on the effect of armed conflict on the health and development of infants and children and ways to alleviate these affects. One of the goals of the workshop will be to discern the next research steps that should be taken. Registration for the PAS/ASPR Meeting is required to attend the symposium. Separate (free) registration is required to attend the workshop, and must be arranged through PGPR.
