26-27 JUNE 2009 | GENEVA - The Partnership hosted a meeting of contributing partners for priority actions 2 - MNCH Core Package of Interventions and 4 - Strengthening Human Resources for Health. This meeting, which brought together representatives from FIGO, ICM, IPA, WHO, BRAC, GHWA, NORAD, UNFPA allowed for partners to outline next steps, responsible agencies and budget needs and allocations.
PA2: The work of effective interventions will consist in a first instance in a review of interventions spanning from reproductive health to adolescent and health system and from community level to referral level and a grading of said interventions based on the efficacy of the interventions and on the strength of the service delivery strategy. This review will result in categorization of interventions and will be the first step in reaching a consensus on a core package of interventions.
PA 4: The first step in the human resources workplan will conducting an inventory of the existing tools for assessing HR for MNCH and developing based on the outcome a comprehensive tool, identifying research gaps and conducting studies and strengthening health care professional associations through the continuation of the regional health care professional workshops and intensified follow up at the national level.
