10-11 AUGUST 2009 | BALI - The annual meeting of the Maternal, Newborn and Child (MNCH) Network for Asia and the Pacific was held in Bali on 10-11 August. The network - commonly referred to as the Coogee Beach Group (CBG) - is an informal network of like-minded individuals in organizations that work to improved MNCH in the region. The objective of the meeting was to review progress to date, and to agree on future analyses and dissemination events. The content and process of new analyses on the impact of the economic and food crises on MNCH financing, utilization, and mortality in the region, were agreed upon.
Organizations attending the meeting included: Asia Development Bank; Australian AID; Canadian International Development Agency; Gates Foundation; Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health; United National Population fund; UNICEF, USAID and the World Health Organization.
