The aim of the 18th ICOWHI conference, “Cities and Women’s Health: Global Perspectives,” is to identify and explore areas of urban planning and financing that are likely to promote women’s health. Far too often, health care professionals, policy makers, and urban planners have conducted their work under the assumption that the needs of women are the same as the needs of men. The intellectual discourse generated by the ICOWHI conference will challenge that assumption.
