CONSULTATION: Global Strategy for Women's and Children's Health at Women Deliver

Global Strategy for Women's and Children's Health visual

Organizer: Women Deliver, UNFPA, The Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and the United Nations Foundation
Event dates: 7 June 2010
Venue: Washington DC

Women and children are central to development, yet efforts to achieve Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) relating to their health have fallen short of expectations. The United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is leading a global effort to accelerate progress on women's and children's health through the development of a Global Strategy.

The Global Strategy for Women's and Children's Health builds on existing agreements and commitments, and challenges all actors to intensify their efforts to improve the health of women and children and achieve the health-related MDGs.

This consultation session at Women Deliver will introduce the Global Strategy and invite comments from a wide range of partners, including governments, UN, NGOs, health care professionals, donors and the private sector.
