US NGOs and foundations applaud Clinton's speech on reproductive rights

8 JANUARY 2010 | WASHINGTON DC - A broad coalition of organizations and several Presidents of US-based Foundations have applauded the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's speech affirming that the United States unequivocally supports the worldwide consensus supporting universal access to reproductive health. As well, Presidents of seven prominent Foundations involved in health also commended the US Secretary of State on her speech and "her continued leadership on global reproductive health." Mrs Clinton's speech marked the 15th anniversary of the international conference which set the reproductive right goals - the United Nations International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) held in Cairo in 1994.
