Make Mom Happy by Making a Difference
4 MAY 2010 — This Mother's Day, choose a card that will show your appreciation to the special mother or caregiver in your life, while also gIving a voice to mothers in need around the world.
Help Save the Children, PMNCH and the other members of our MomsRule! coalition make maternal and child health a priority at this year's G8 Summit in Canada by logging on to www.MomsRule.org and choosing from one of eight different free Mother's Day e-Cards to send to your mom.
Each year, nearly 9 million children under age 5 die from preventable causes and more than 500,000 mothers die from complications related to pregnancy or childbirth.
When you do, you'll also have the option of sending a message to U.S. President Barack Obama or Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, urging them to make a commitment towards long-term funding that will help improve the health of mothers and children in some of the world's poorest countries
Sending an e-Card is quick and easy to do. Visit the MomsRule! website and participate in all that the site has to offer — post a memorable story about your mom, send a letter to G8 leaders and even add a photo of your mom to the website as part of our "Momsaic," an online photo mosaic comprised of the pictures of mothers from around the world.
So this year, skip the card store and send a message that will have a lasting effect for your mom and mothers around the world who need our help.
