Health heroes
Action for Global Health campaign on the health MDGs
Millions of people around the world live without access to basic healthcare. Progress on reducing child mortality, improving reproductive and maternal health and tackling HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases has been unacceptably slow.
Action For Global Health has launched the Health Heroes campaign to call attention to the experiences of peer educators, community counsellors, health workers and government officials striving to get the three health-related Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) back on track by 2015.
The campaign is calling on the European Commission and the governments of France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK to live up to their responsibilities and support Health Heroes around the world so that, together, they can make health a reality for all.
