21-22 NOVEMBER 2011 | OTTAWA -More than 100 policymakers, donors, technical advisors, academics and advocates from around the world gathered in Ottawa for a two-day meeting to advance the implementation of the workplan of the Commission on Information and Accountability for Women's and Children's Health (COIA). A key outcome is the development of a high-level action plan to implement the COIA recommendations. PMNCH will play a key role in this joint plan. Co-organized by CIDA and WHO and opened by WHO Director-General Margaret Chan and Canadian CIDA Minister Bev Oda, Ottawa was also the site for the first meeting of the Commission’s Expert Review Group (ERG).

19 MAY 2011 | WHA GENEVA - Health leaders from around the world took part in a Technical Briefing at the WHA as the Commission on Information and Accountability presented its recommendations to go forward and accountability report: Keeping Promises, Measuring Results - a report referred by many present as "game-changing". Additionally, 16 countries presented new commitments to the Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health.
DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA, 2 May 2011 – New recommendations calling for an unprecedented level of accountability to save the lives of more women and children in developing countries were agreed today by the Commission on Information and Accountability for Women’s and Children’s Health.
4 APRIL 2011 – The Commission on Information and Accountability for Women's and Children's Health is inviting comments on the final draft final Papers from its two Working Groups until 15 April 2011.
