Using ICT to deliver a healthier tomorrow for Africa

9-11 AUGUST 2011 | ABUJA, NIGERIA – The Nigerian Ministry of Health and Intel Corporation, in collaboration with PMNCH, have brought together regional governments, donor bodies, technology companies, healthcare providers, practitioners and policymakers to discuss the best ways to leverage information and communication technologies to enhance health care across the continent at this year’s Pan-African Health Summit.

The summit’s objectives include:

  • Strengthening policies and programmes in healthcare delivery in rural Africa
  • Promote mobile healthcare projects “Mailafiya” and sharing the regional successes of similar national and international programmes
  • Position MDG as role models while sharing its thought leadership on life-changing initiatives in healthcare
  • Development of e-Health and m-Health vision and programmes in developing countries
  • Expanding access to healthcare services to the underserved populations in developing countries through community health insurance
  • Build relationships with and influence, key healthcare stakeholders to adopt emerging e-health strategies and “Mailafiya.”
