The State of the Asia Pacific’s Children Report

5 August 2008, New Delhi / Bangkok – Global achievement of the health related Millennium Development Goals, the MDGs, depends largely on India’s success and on China accelerating progress even further, according to a new UNICEF report which examines the latest trends in child and maternal health.

The State of Asia-Pacific’s Children 2008 highlights the need to position child survival at the heart of the Asia-Pacific region’s development and human rights agenda. This inaugural Asia-Pacific edition of The State of the World’s Children offers a regional perspective to trends in child survival and health and outlines possible solutions to accelerate progress in meeting the Millennium Development Goals.
