The just released Born Too Soon: The Global Action Report on Preterm Birth provides the first-ever national, regional and global estimates of preterm birth.
15 million babies are born too soon every year. Watch the video about Grace’s powerful story to learn how Kangaroo Mother Care helped save her preterm baby Tuntufye. Prematurity is the single most important cause of newborn deaths but more than ¾ of premature babies can be saved now with feasible, cost-effective care like Kangaroo Mother Care.
While Tuntufye is now healthy and thriving, many of those who survive a preterm birth face a lifetime of significant disability. Care for premature babies begins with mom. Accessing care before and during pregnancy, at birth and the days thereafter is critical for both mom and baby. Invest and plan to reduce the risk of preterm birth.
