5 FEBRUARY 2014 | KATHMANDU, NEPAL
Dr Carole Presern , Executive Director of PMNCH recently met with Dr Lin Aung, the WHO Representative to Nepal and his team to discuss the multi-stakeholder review of Nepal’s success factors country policy analysis and implications for the post-2015 agenda.
Nepal is one of ten countries featured in the Success Factors study, a collaborative effort that seeks to draw lessons from high performing countries on accelerating progress towards reducing preventable maternal and child mortality.
The next phase of the Success Factors study includes multi-stakeholder consultations in the 10 countries between January and March 2014. This will be an opportunity to synthesize lessons learned and to capture different stakeholder’s perspectives, from both within and outside the health sector, on key policies and programmes that made a difference for women’s and children’s health.
The draft findings for the overall Success Factors study and the proposed recommendations for the post-2015 development agenda will also be further developed.
The review for Nepal will take place in March and will involve a range of health and development partners.
