The Partnership welcomes first members of new Private Sector Constituency
October 2011 – The Partnership Board will meet in Paris 25-26 October 2011 and top of the Agenda will be the proposed PMNCH Strategic Framework and Workplan. The NGO Constituency will welcome a new member to the Board -- IPPF-- and a nod will be given to the new Private Sector Constituency, which now has two new official PMNCH members: Merck and Novartis Foundation. The Board will also discuss the role of the Partnership in work of the Commission on Information and Accountability and the Independent Expert Review Group.
Hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France, a special Parliamentary event will take place on Monday 24th October, with PMNCH Chair, Dr Julio Frenk co-chairing an event which will bring Tanzanian and Nigerian Health ministers to discuss global action and commitment to women’s and children’s health with French Parliamentarians. Efforts and commitments from stakeholders will be highlighted, including France’s RMNCH commitment through the G8 Muskoka Initiative, and that of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in supporting Parliamentarians to ensure continuity and accountability in countries.
