Letter from the former PMNCH Director
I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to Carole Presern, who begins a new chapter with The Partnership today. Carole brings so many important attributes to The Partnership, including extensive experience in both Asia and Africa; an in-depth knowledge of global health alliances, both as a staff member and Board member; and extensive management experience, with a great gift for motivating and mentoring staff. And, as I have discovered, her wry sense of humour and hands-on style -- that's the midwife in her -- are a true delight.
I look forward to continuing to work closely with Carole, now as a board member and colleague at the WHO. Thinking back on my four years with The Partnership secretariat, what stands out is the tremendous faith and support that I have enjoyed from all of you during that time. I have never stopped learning from you, and your dedication to greater justice for women and children have inspired all that we have achieved together. I wish the very same for Carole, as she takes up one of the most fascinating positions in global health today.
