PMNCH release: Comments on draft reports of Accountability Commission
4 APRIL 2011 – The Commission on Information and Accountability for Women's and Children's Health is inviting comments on the final draft final Papers from its two Working Groups until 15 April 2011. PMNCH is encouraging its members to make comments to the two papers: Draft Final Paper on Accountability for Results and the Draft Final Paper on Accountability for Resources. NGO constituents are also invited to join a “consolidated” PMNCH/NGO submission.
The Commission’s Online Community has been designed for this dialogue for individual /and or agency input into this process by 15th April. According to the Commission, comments received by the 15 April 2011 deadline will be considered in the final version of the Papers. Comments received after this deadline may be brought to the attention of Commissioners, but would not be considered in the final Working Group paper. French translations of all these documents will be posted as soon as they are available.
Special PMNCH/NGO Constituency consolidated submission
Comments on the Commission Working Papers from all PMNCH members are encouraged. NGO representatives on the PMNCH Board, Rajiv Tandon (STC, India), Mary Anne Mercer (HAI), Christine Galavotti (CARE, US) and Stefan Germann (WVI) are urging NGOs to comment, in particular on the specific recommendations related to indicators for tracking progress, data collection challenges at the country level, and the accountability mechanisms being suggested for countries and at the global level for women’s and children’s health.
Additionally, the NGO representatives are urging members of the PMNCH/NGO constituency to copy their comments to pmnch@who.int , to be forwarded to Maris Vojta at World Vision International, who will then provide a consolidated input from PMNCH NGO partners to the Commission. This “consolidated PMNCH – NGO”’ reply will be additional to the separate organizational comments.
PMNCH/NGO constituency members are asked to send copies of their comments by 11 April 2011, enabling the consolidated reply to be prepared and sent to the Commission by 15 April 2011.

Final Papers
The Final Working Group Papers will be presented at the Second and Final Commission meeting on 1-2 May in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Official comments can be submitted to the Commission website by 15 April 2011. Find links to the Commission website on your right.
