Countdown to 2015 - Maternal, Newborn & Child Survival
Preparations are moving forward quickly on the second Countdown Conference 17-19 April 2008 at the Westin Grand Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa in conjunction with the 118th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). The Countdown to 2015 is a collaborative effort of concerned partners and individuals to track progress towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5. This Conference will provide a follow-up on the progress achieved in intervention coverage for maternal, newborn and child health. It will also launch the "Countdown Report 2008", a comprehensive report which includes 68 country profiles with coverage trends dating from 1990. Numerous country delegations have confirmed their participations. A large spectrum of high-level speakers will be present.
