Mission statement
The American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) is the oldest women's health care organization in the U.S. ACNM is the Professional association that represents Certified Nurse-Midwives and Certified Midwives in the United States. ACNM provides research, administers and promotes continuing education programs, establishes clinical practice standards, creates liaisons with state and federal agencies and members of Congress.
The Department of Global Outreach (DGO) of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) works to strengthen midwifery globally as a means to promote the health and well being of women and infants worldwide. This effort is pursued via providing 1) international program implementation and technical assistance and 2) support to ACNM members to carry out such work.
