Mission statement
The Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) is active both at the national and international levels. It is Canada's leading non-governmental voice dedicated exclusively to public health. The public health community in Canada is multidisciplinary and multisectoral in nature and includes many different professions. Founded in 1910, CPHA addresses a broad range of health and social issues in Canada. CPHA's members believe in universal and equitable access to the basic conditions which are necessary to achieve health for all Canadians. Over the past 25 years, CPHA has provided technical and financial support, in association with several other agencies and organizations, to contribute to an improvement in the health and well-being of people around the world. Its flagship international endeavour has been the creation and organizational nurturing of public health associations and organizations in over 30 locations around the world.
