Mission statement
Sahan Relief & Development Organization was established in August 2004 in response to the direct needs of health related issues facing the long suffering people of Somalia. One of the most important issues that the organization focuses on is the improvement of the mother and child health issues, and to also reduce the high maternal and prenatal mortality and morbidity in the country.
Achievements: Sahan Relief is the only Canadian charity that has a functioning office in Somalia, and has done health-related projects. Sahan Relief manages 2 regional hospitals in the northern Somalia, and is the process of establishing midwifery training courses for the maternal health workers in the country.
