International standard for rabies vaccine

WHO Expert Committee on Biological Standardization, Forty-second report, TRS 822, WHO 1992, p8-9

The fifth International Standard for Rabies Vaccine was established in 1992 on the basis of the results obtained in the collaborative study using the NIH test and, assigned a potency of 16 International Units of Rabies Vaccine to the contents of each ampoule.

The first International Standard for Rabies Virus PM-Glycoprotein and the first International Standard for Rabies Virus PM-Ribonucleoprotein were also established in 1992, and assigned to 10 International Units of Rabies Virus PM-Glycoprotein and 135 International Units of Rabies Virus-Ribonucleoprotein to the contents of each ampoule.
