Sexual and reproductive health


Using up-to-date evidence and research, the Department of Reproductive Health and Research seeks to improve sexual and reproductive health, in particular among women and young people. This goal will be achieved through fostering and facilitating a sustainable change in national and international policy and public health programmes.

Maternal and Perinatal Health and Preventing Unsafe Abortion Team (MPA)

MPA works in the areas of maternal and perinatal health, prevention of unsafe abortion, ethics and research capacity strengthening.

The Human Reproduction Team (HRX)

HRX works in the areas of contraception/family planning, reproductive tract and sexually transmitted infections, infertility, sexual health, as well as linkages between sexual and reproductive health and HIV.

Adolescents and at-Risk Populations Team (AGH)

AGH works in the areas of adolescent sexual and reproductive health, gender-based and sexual violence, harmful practices, sexual and reproductive health in emergencies, conflict, and humanitarian crises, and of other at-risk populations.
