Describes an assessment of the need for contraceptive introduction in Brazil, carried out in line with the Programme’s new three-stage process of assessment, research and policy dialogue. The assessment aimed to find out if there was a need in Brazil to introduce new methods, to introduce or reintroduce existing methods, or to remove methods from any settings. The report gives the main findings of the assessment, raws conclusions on the current method mix, and makes recommendations on research.
