An Assessment of the contraceptive method mix in Myanmar
Web only
overview
This report presents the findings from an assessment of the contraceptive method mix in Myanmar, conducted as the first phase of a three-stage strategy for contraceptive introduction promoted by the World Health Organization's (WHO) Strategic Programme Component on the Introduction and Transfer of Technologies for Fertility Regulation. The assessment is focused on quality of care and addresses policy, programme development and research needs. In particular it aims to answer three questions: Is there a need to explore the introduction of new contraceptive technologies? Are there existing methods being provided for which better quality of care in service delivery is necessary? Is there reason to remove any of the presently available methods?
