Perceived research priorities in sexual and reproductive health for low- and middle-income countries: results from a survey
A greater understanding of research priorites, particularly in less developed countries where poor sexual and reproductive health appear intractable, is much needed if universal access to reproductive health by 2015 is to be achieved. To this end, a survey on research priorites as perceived by stakeholders working in the field in low- and middle-income countries was carried out. The results cover a wide specturm, from basic biomedical and clinical reseach to operations and health systems research, and the priorities reveal that many unanswered questions impede progress in this field.
