A strategic assessment of reproductive health in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic
This document describes an assessment of sexual and reproductive health needs in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, carried out using WHO’s Strategic Approach to the introduction of fertility regulation and other sexual and reproductive health technologies. The assessment focused on issues related to contraception, maternal health, reproductive tract infections including HIV, and sexual and reproductive health needs of adolescents. The report offers a variety of specific recommendations concerning policy, programme and research needs to assist in developing comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services to address the problems and needs identified.
