Third WHO/UNFPA High-level Consultation
Summary report
This report summarizes the deliberations and recommendations of a meeting between the WHO Acting Director-General and the UNFPA Executive Director (together with senior staff members from the two agencies) held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 16 June 2006. The purpose of the meeting was to identify necessary actions for accelerating progress in improving sexual and reproductive health and to reinforce the need for collaboration, in particular towards the attainment of sexual and reproductive health and related international goals and targets. Strategies for supporting policy and programmes towards achieving universal access to sexual and reproductive health and its linkage with universal access to HIV prevention, care and treatment were also discussed.
