Sexual and reproductive health - laying the foundation for a more just world through research and action
This biennial report covering the years 2004–2005 describes, in non-technical language, both the Department’s research activities – coordinated by the UNDP/UNFPA/WHO/World Bank Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction (HRP) – and its technical support initiatives. It covers the work carried out in the areas of: promoting family planning; improving maternal and perinatal health; controlling sexually transmitted and reproductive tract infections; preventing unsafe abortion; gender issues, sexual health and reproductive rights; and promoting the sexual and reproductive health of adolescents.
