“Fertility always comes from outside”, a painting by Koen Vermechlen,

This painting, “Fertility always comes from outside,” by Koen Vermechlen, was donated to the HRP Programme from the Walking Egg,. Two of the eggs have the world continents delicately sketched into them. The artist’s explanation: "Dualism is necessary to create something new, and you need "the other" to create new life. Cross-pollination" is crucial to my work, as it is the opposite of "in-breeding" which is what happens if we don't reach out to someone/ something else." This piece of art encapsulates the true nature of partnerships, with its intent to reach broad understanding, consensus and strategic planning for eventual adaptation of global infertility guidelines at country level with a focus on the evidence-base.
