Launches of the Global Alliance against Chronic Respiratory Diseases
National launch in Recife, Brazil
During the 33rd Brazilian Pediatric Society Meeting in Recife on 7 October 2006, GARD Brazil was launched. Among the Latin American countries, Brazil is a pioneer in creating an Alliance against Chronic Respiratory Diseases at country level. This Alliance gathers Brazilian chronic respiratory disease experts and other health professionals to work to the goal of improving lung health.
Regional launch for Latin America in Buenos Aires, Argentina
The regional launch of the Global Alliance against Chronic Respiratory Diseases in Latin America, Buenos Aires, Argentina took place on 17 August 2006 during the XIV Latin American Congress of Allergy and Immunology Annual Meeting. More than 800 participants attended which resulted in a broad press coverage in the regional media.
Global launch in Beijing, China
The official launch for the Global Alliance for Chronic Respiratory Diseases (GARD) was held on 28 March 2006 at the Presidential Plaza Hotel, Beijing, People's Republic of China. The Launch Ceremony was followed by the General Meeting of the Alliance that convened all the collaboration parties.
