Supportive policies are a key step in enhancing access to reproductive health essential medicines.

The resources in this section provide policy makers and advocates with the evidence base for including reproductive health medicines in national policies, on national essential medicines lists, and in national budgets. They also provide details on important policy issues such as:

  • donor support for contraceptives,
  • using policy to shape funding and access to supplies, and
  • official position statements on reproductive health commodities issued by the UNFPA, UNAIDS and WHO.
