The UN Road Safety Collaboration partners make use of the following efforts to elevate the profile of road safety as an important health and development challenge and advocate for evidence-based interventions to save lives on the world's roads.

Sustainable Development Goal target 3.6

Member States seek to achieve SDG target 3.6 to reduce by 50% by 2020 the number of road traffic deaths and injuries around the world.

Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020

Mandated by the UN General Assembly, the Decade was launched on 11 May 2011.

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

The UN encourages countries to commemorate the third Sunday in November every year as a World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
