International Pyrotechnic Automotive Safety Symposium (IPASS 2011)

The symposium IPASS is sponsored by the majors of automotive safety (Autoliv, Takata, TRW, Indet Safety Systems, Hirtenberger, and Safran SME) and focusses on pyrotechnics used in automotive safety. This year is the fourth edition of the symposium, and IPASS 2011 community will be honoured to welcome Avi Silverman from FIA Foundation as its Chairman. European launch event in support of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020

Launch event hosted by the President of the European Parliament, Jerzy Buzek and Jorgo Chatzimarkakis MEP. Speakers will include seven-time Formula 1 World Champion, Michael Schumacher, Werner Kraus, President of FIA Region I, and Didier Bollecker, Président de l'Automobile Club, Association Française des Automobilistes.

Challenge Bibendum

Marking the official launch of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 Michelin is organising the 11th edition of Challenge Bibendum, a regular event, gathering major stakeholders from automotive business, NGOs, private and public sector opinion leaders and decision-makers. Following workshops will be conducted in the framework of this event: "Mass & safety - What does it take to be safe when fuel efficiency and economics command to go lighter? Compatibility between all road users?", "Road safety in traditionally motorised countries: what priorities towards additional progress?" and "Making the business case for road safety investment to achieve sustainable road mobility". The Student Day, in addition to other activities for the general public, will include a series of special conferences and lectures on the issues of sustainable road mobility, as well as the European Youth Forum for Road Safety in collaboration with YOURS (Youth For Road Safety).
