IRF Symposium 'Providing Infrastructure that Improves Road Safety' and launch of Decade of Action of Romania

The delegates of the symposium will deliberate on how infrastructure can prevent road fatalities and injuries, concluding with the elaboration of a list of recommended actions that should be taken to ensure that the road infrastructure provided by a nation to its people is 'safe'. Together for road safety

We decided that for about 10 days of each month from May to organize various activities to promote road safety. Educational campaigns, such as the prevention of accidents, by crossing the street fair, proper use of child seats, bicycle helmets. Public demonstrations of first aid, proper use of safety systems in cars, and some thematic symposia to inform the public about new safety technologies. The university will hold several presentations with the latest information on hybrid and electric impact on passenger safety.

Launch of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020

- 9 May - Parliamentary sesion for Road Safety to call up the political factor to be involved in Road Safety actions.
- 10 May - IRF conference called Providing Infrastructure that Improves Road Safety

Round table: Best Road Safety practices from civil society

The round table, organized by P.A.U. Education in collaboration with the Inter Ministerial Council of Road Safety in Romania, will be held in the frame of the European Year of Volunteering 2011 Tour event in Bucharest - Muzeul National al Taranului Român, Bucuresti, Sala Oaspeti - on 11 May at 11 am. The round table will gather stakeholders from the civil society who are voluntarily developing actions to improve Road Safety. They will present their activities prior to an open debate with all participants. The rally driver Manu Mihalache will also testify and comment his highly involved contribution to Road Safety education in Romania. Attendance is open to the public and no previous registration is required.
