Launching of The Decade of Action for Road Safety in Serbia

Road Traffic Safety Agency of the Republic of Serbia will organize all-day preventive and educational action in order to promote the launching of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020. The Agency will organize this action in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior - Traffic Police Directorate, Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, Ministry of Health, Institute for Public Health, Red Cross of the Republic of Serbia, Automobile and Motorists Association of the Republic of Serbia and Academy NAVAK, with the support of the WHO Office for the Republic of Serbia. The program will last from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and it is planned to set up stands of participants, the stage provided for the official part, as well as the video wall where the complete program will be broadcast live. During the event, the performance '180 lives saved' will take place for 5 minutes, as well as the demonstration of providing the first aid to the injured in traffic accidents. It is planned to organize the press conference within the program, with the participation of the Minister of Interior, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Minister of Health, Minister of Education and Science, Director of the Road Traffic Safety Agency, WHO representative for the Republic of Serbia, Head of the Traffic Police Directorate in the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, President of the Red Cross of the Republic of Serbia and Secretary General of the Automobile and Motorists Association of the Republic of Serbia.

Safety in traffic for all

High-profile press conference. Health care institutions in Serbia will put on visible places posters about the decade. Placement of posters in vehicles of public transport in Belgrade (one vehicle- each line) seven days starting from May 11th. Visiting nurses in 16 Belgrade Health care Centers will distribute leaflets/brochures and tags/stickers to homes of their patients and give them short education about importance of child restraints and safety belts children of older groups in public preschool institutions in 17 Belgrade Municipalities will have class of drawing on the topic: How I feel in traffic (1 institution- each municipality) material will be distributed to drivers on petrol stations (1 in each municipality) material will be distributed to driving schools and given to novice drivers (10 schools).

Serbian Launch of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020
11 May 2011, Auto-moto savez Srbije (AMSS)

Launch event in the vicinity of the National Parliament and City Hall. The AMSS stand will be placed there featuring the Campaign posters/logos. AMSS road inspection vehicle will be exhibited to show AMSS commitments for safer roads. Seat belt slide/roll-over cage will be available for the public to showcase the effects of seat belt protection. AMSS will be delivering campaign tags and printed material with road safety messages. Cooperation with other stakeholders will be included. Celebrities to promote the tag and road safety messages. Pre-launch events: AMSS will be present with a presentation at the UNECE conference organized by the Ministries of Interior and Infrastructure and the Road Safety Agency, in Belgrade, on April 27-29, 2011. Post-launch events: AMSS will organize the 42nd edition of the national children road traffic contest, with the best drawing competition organized for participating children. The three best drawings will be awarded. The contest will be held on May 14, 2011.
