11th meeting of the UN Road Safety Collaboration
On 3-4 March WHO hosted the 11th Meeting of the UN Road Safety Collaboration, a network of 50 agencies. The meeting focused primarily on the draft Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 proclaimed the previous day in the UN General Assembly through reolution A/RES/64/255). Comments on the draft Plan of Action may be made until 31 July 2010. The Collaboration took the decision to use the 2nd UN Global Road Safety Week planned for early 2011 to officially launch the Decade.
As with previous meeting, partners provided updates on collaborative efforts and the three project groups - on good practices, fleet safety and infrastructure - met to discuss their progress in implementing their workplans.
The next meeting of the UNRSC will take place in October in Geneva.
