2nd UN Global Road Safety Week Celebration

Safe Kids Philippines (SKP) will be one with the world in celebrating the 2nd UN Global Road Safety Week with a Long Short Walk on May 6. The event will be at St. Andrew’s School along Quirino Avenue, Barangay La Huerta, Parañaque City. At 9 AM, the start of SKP’s year-long campaign for pedestrian safety will have a short program followed by a walk where some participants will do Walkability Checks rating the walkability of the neighbourhood. “STOP for PEDESTRIANS!” stickers will be distributed. Participants of the event will be the stakeholders of the Model School Zone Project of SKP in St. Andrew’s School – parents, children and faculty, FedEx Express, officials from Barangay La Huerta, representatives from the local government’s Education, Traffic Management, Traffic, Engineering, Planning and Health Offices; and national government in the Departments of Health, Public Works, Transportation, Education, the Metro Manila Development Authority, GRSP Philippines and media.
