Next EVIPNet Policy Brief Workshop in Uganda to launch SURE project
1-13 September 2009
EVIPNet-Africa and REACH country teams, the European and Canadian partners, and WHO will officially launch the SURE (Supporting the Use of Research Evidence for policy in African health systems) project, in Kampala, Uganda. SURE is a project funded by the European Commission Framework Program 7 to support EVIPNet Africa and REACH in their efforts to improve the use of research evidence in policy decisions, and to support methodological improvement, monitoring & evaluation and dissemination of results.
The event in Kampala will bring Team Leaders together for the first organizational meeting of SURE, 1-13 September. The meeting will be followed by a Policy Brief Workshop, with the participation of policy makers and researchers. The workshop will follow the model of the successful EVIPNet/REACH Addis Abba workshop, which drafted policy options briefs on how to scale up the use of artemisinin combined therapies (ACTs) to treat uncomplicated falciparum malaria.
