Information and registration

The event was held at the Hotel Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Copacabana and a conference tent on the nearby Forte de Copacabana. WHO is grateful to the Ministry of Health of Brazil, FIOCRUZ and the event management company Metodo Eventos for the logistics support provided during this conference.

Publication stands

Over one hundred WHO partners and stakeholders exhibited material at the World Conference on Social Determinants of Health. In addition, more than 400 selected documents, publications and reports were distributed to participants on a Conference CD entitled "Publications and Reports: a comprehensive resource guide".

The World Conference on Social Determinants of Health brought together Member States and stakeholders to share experiences on policies and strategies aimed at reducing health inequities. The event provided a global platform for dialogue on how the recommendations of the WHO Commission on Social Determinants of Health (2008) could be taken forward.
