Yan Guo

Dr Yan Guo is a professor of public health and Vice President of the Peking University Health Science Centre. She is Vice Chairman of the Chinese Rural Health Association, Vice Director of the China Academy of Health Policy (PKU), and Board member of the Community Health Branch of the Chinese Hospital Management Association.

Over the years, she has been actively involved in large scale research projects of both national and international significance, including health service research, primary health care in Chinese rural areas, needs analysis, health policy analysis, as well as poverty alleviation in China. Professor Guo is an active advocate in promoting health policy, primary health care, rural health services management, maternal and child health care, and health education and promotion in China.

She has been invited to provide consultancy for a range of internationally sponsored projects carried out in China, such as the United Kingdom's Department for International Development (DFID) China Urban Health and Poverty Project, the Final Assessment of Tuberculosis Control Project sponsored by the World Bank, the UNICEF funded Comprehensive Primary Health Care Project, and the Women's Reproductive Health and Micro Nutrition Project by the World Food Program. Furthermore, domestically, she is a prominent figure in her professional communities.
