Just released: WHO Guidance on Ethics of tuberculosis prevention, care and control

Guidance on ethics of tuberculosis prevention, care and control

1 December 2010 | WHO's Stop TB Department and the Department of Ethics, Equity, Trade and Human Rights are pleased to announce the publication of the guidance document on Ethics and tuberculosis. After the establishment of a Task Force on Ethics and TB in 2008, the document was jointly developed in a two-year process involving many stakeholders. It is the first document of its kind, and addresses a broad range of ethical issues arising in TB programmes, ranging from informed consent and isolation to health-care workers' rights and obligations, and clinical and epidemiological studies. Implementation activities in all WHO regions are planned for 2011.
