About SORT IT
SORT IT stands for Structured Operational Research and Training IniTiative, and is a collaboration between TDR, The Union, and Médecins sans Frontières (MSF). The programme is based on a proven workshop and mentorship-based training model developed by MSF and The Union which has already trained more than 100 public health workers. Integrated research and training is provided over a calendar year, starting with 2 weeks of workshop activities, ongoing mentorship, and a final 1 week workshop to finalize a research paper and develop an evidence brief for policy-makers.
Participants propose a research topic where the results can make a difference in healthcare delivery or policy. Their governments and supervisors must agree to support the research, and the WHO regional and country offices support this process.
