Empowering health researchers to effectively engage in the infectious diseases of poverty

We aim to redress inequities between countries, within countries and in the content and conduct of health research by helping to:

  • address national and regional priorities in basic, clinical and implementation research
  • inspire innovation
  • strengthen national commitment to health research
  • enhance research capacity
  • forge partnerships with the broader regional or international research community.

By focusing not just on individual excellence, but on systems that can encourage, support and sustain health research and its utility, TDR will help disease endemic countries to have a more pivotal role in the national and international scientific endeavour towards 'research for health'.
