World Bank provides US $ 1.6 million

TDR news item
13 June 2011

The World Bank has renewed its grant to TDR with a US $ 1.6 million agreement for 2011, within a broader commitment for funding for the next 5 years.

TDR's programme of work supports the Bank's overall mission of poverty alleviation within its strategy for health, nutrition and population results. The Bank has been a co-sponsor of TDR since its founding in 1975. Other co-sponsors include the United Nations Childrens Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the World Health Organization (WHO), which is also TDR's executing agency. Each organization provides further support via a Standing Committee that provides executive advice, as well as through participation in the Joint Coordinating Board, TDR's highest governing body.
