Battaramulla City goes smoke free on WNTD!
Battaramulla, Sri Lanka, 31 May 2007 - 31 May 2008

With wide publicity to the event a workshop for officers of the local government council of the city will be held to work out a programme to enforce the recently enacted tobacco control law in the city of Battaramulla. With assistance and guidance of the National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol, the law enforcement will be carried throughout the year, at the end of which Battaramulla city is expected to be smoke free.

WNTD 2007 celebration
Colombo, Sri Lanka, 28-31 May 2007

1. Release of WNTD supplement in three leading newspapers on 31st May.
2. Release and disseminate WNTD 2007 circular by the Health Ministry, ellaborating activities to be held in every district.
3. Conduct of WNTD media briefing and conference on 30th May.
4. Release of WNTD 2007 souvenir by the NCD Unit of the Ministry of Health.
