ARS Algarve promove Conferência sobre Ambientes 100% Livres de Fumo

A Administração Regional de Saúde do Algarve realiza no dia 31 de Maio, pelas 9.30 horas no Auditório da Escola Superior de Saúde de Faro, uma Conferência para assinalar o Dia Mundial Sem Tabaco, sendo um dos convidados o Dr. Afonso Candal, Deputado à Assembleia da República pelo PS (Círculo de Aveiro) e elemento do Grupo de Trabalho da Prevenção do Tabagismo da Comissão de Saúde do Parlamento a acompanhar a discussão sobre a Lei do Controlo do Tabaco.

Distribution of information regarding second-hand tobacco smoke in front of the Portuguese Parliament

To give more visibility to the problem of the second-hand tobacco smoke and to pressure the Portuguese Parliament to approve a law enforcing smoke-free in public spaces, including restaurants/pubs. During the 31st May 2007, the World No Tobacco Day, in front of the Portuguese Parliament, a set of Portuguese citizens, many of them signers of a petition with 8500 signatures recently send to the Portuguese Parliament, will distribute the WNTD 2007 Brochure to alert the public and the workers of the Parliament of the second-hand tobacco smoke problem and in this way pressuring the Parliament to approve a law which really protects the public health regardless of the many pressures coming from the tobacco industry, restaurants/pubs associations and the smokers with power in Portugal - the press will be informed and we expect it to be present.
