World No Tobacco Day 2007
Khartoum, Sudan, 30-31 May 2007

This year's celebration will highlight the announcement of the Khartoum International Airport as a Tobacco Free Zone. On 30 May 2007, Sudan's Minister of Health, Acting WHO Representative and the Kht International Airport DG will hold a press conference. On 31 May 2007, there will be a parade from the Ministry of Health grounds to the airport. The march will be participated in by university students. A programme of speeches and music (on no smoking) will follow highlighting the messages from Sudan's Vice President, Minister of Health and the WHO Representative. The exhibit inside the airport will also be opened on Friday. A free consultation on how to quit smoking will be given in one of the airport corners. Those interested are encouraged to sit down with medical doctors and pyschologists who are offering their services free of charge. The No Tobacco Day will also be the day when all signage and sign boards of no smoking and dangers of smoking will be posted all over the airport.
